Careers at JustEnglish
We're people who work hard, like to have fun and genuinely give a sh*t
about you.
Our goal is never to be a big company. It is to be a good one, a place where people do their best work together.
Our priorities are to take care of people, products, and profits, in that order. We haven't found a better way to run things.
Open roles
We hire slowly and intentionally. Here's what who we're looking for right now.
No open roles right now, but we'd still love to hear from you.

Who we are
A small team doing meaningful work.
Random pics of the team :D
JustEnglish exists because it makes no sense that English is still treated like a privilege in Sri Lanka. Some people move ahead in education, careers, and life, while others fall behind — not because they're less capable, but because of one thing: English.
We don't buy into that. We see English as just a skill, not a status thing. We're building this so more people can actually get it and move forward on their own terms.

What our team says
In their own words.
"I would describe JE as supercool, chill, people focused - not the type that just says they are people focused."
"Not being micromanaged, having a close team and especially putting people above work."
"I was actually able to experience open culture first at JE. Other places say it. JE actually does it."
"It feels like a place where ideas are welcomed and people are trusted."
"We know the company will take care of us as we take care of the company."
"JE genuinely cares about students - their future, their time, their effort."
Leadership
Who you'll work with.
A crazy bunch sharing an insane passion for what they do.
A little note from us.
Hey, how's it going?
We started JustEnglish because of something we kept seeing. In Sri Lanka, when people try to speak in English, they get judged. Try, and you're called posh. Struggle, and you get laughed at. Either way, people hold back.
That felt wrong to us. So we built a space where people can practice anonymously, without judgment. Just real conversations, with real people.
We're still figuring things out and building as we go. But one thing hasn't changed. People come first. Our students, and our team.
If this feels like something you believe in, we'd love to hear from you :)
